Hi, I’m Farwizah Naziha binti Johol, but most people call me Wija. I’m currently in Semester 4 of Bachelor of Media Technology under school of SMMTC. I’ve always enjoyed creative work, especially when it involves skateboarding, photography, and travel. These hobbies help me see things differently and often inspire my projects.

I also have experience in UI design from a past project where I worked on a language learning app. It taught me how to design clean and user-friendly interfaces while thinking from the user’s perspective. Soon, I’ll be part of the Book Swap project, and I’m excited to contribute creatively and connect with more people through it.

For me, it’s all about finding new ways to express ideas visually, digitally, or through everyday moments.

Hello there! I’m Nor Dalila Wahida binti Abdul Wahab, currently a Semester 6 student pursuing a Bachelor of Science with Honors in Information Technology. People call me Dalila. Let me tell you guys a little bit about me.

Tech might be my field, but books are my heart. I have a deep love for stories, especially romance novels that sweep you off your feet and transport you to dreamy worlds. From slow burns to happily-ever-after, I believe every love story has a spark of magic, just like every line of code has a purpose.

Being part of this Book Swap project at our university has been a truly exciting journey for me, combining my love for books, my IT knowledge, and my passion for community sharing. I’m thrilled to help make it easier for students to exchange books, save money, and connect over shared reads.

Hi, I’m Siti Nur Aliza binti Che Abdullah, currently surviving (and thriving!) in Semester 6 as an IT student with a Bachelor of Science (Hons) in the works. They call me Aliza or Jaa. Tech might be my major, but comics and cute romance reads are my real happy place.

While I spend a lot of time in the world of tech, I find my true escape in the pages of books, especially comic-style reads like Lawak Kampus that bring laughter and lightness to my day. I also enjoy the occasional romance novel, the kind that pulls at your heartstrings and lets you dream a little.

Being involved in the Book Swap project has been a fun and meaningful adventure. It’s given me the chance to share my interest in lighthearted and entertaining reads with others, while also using my tech background to make the experience smoother and more enjoyable for everyone. I love seeing how a simple book can bring people together, spark conversations, and create moments of joy on campus.

Hi everyone, I’m Leo Shan En, you can call me Shan or Eunice, currently in semester 4 in Bachelor of Media Technology with Honours from SMMTC. I love analyzing content and figuring out what makes people click, share, and care.

My academic interests revolve around the impact of media on society, digital storytelling, and the evolving relationship between technology and communication, while continuously learning how media shapes public perception and culture.

Being a part of the Book Swap project is a new challenge for me. I believe that this is a meaningful project to let everyone find and reach out the textbook they want. This is all about sharing the joy of reading, saving money, and reducing waste—one second-hand book at a time. I hope everyone feels free to browse and swap to make things easier.

Hi! my name is Mustika Wardah binti Mohd. Zawawi, you can just call me Wardah. I'm barely alive surviving semester 10 as an IT student in Bachelor of Science with Honors in Information Technology. Yeah I know 'semester 10'. you might thinking "damn she is a super senior student" well, let me tell you a little bit of my life's story that is full of tears I might say.. so long short story, I defer my degree study for two semesters in the middle of pandemic, yup pandemic. so now you know my story, nevertheless learning the human-computer interaction is so much fun.

Even though finding an error in my coding is like a hell journey, but I love doing the design! Because I was born to be creative and fantasizing a magical and fun world to live. I have always love reading books, not to mention I grow up with Harry Potter, Narnia, Disney, and many more. You can just imagine how exciting it is to create the design that came from your imagination and make it real so that people can use your easy, cute, and fun systems to achieve their goals. As for our user, they can use our adorable penguin theme’s system to help them find books for their study.

As a part of the Book Swap project, it is so intriguing for me to see the final products of our project. I will give my all for this project. Using my skills and knowledge as an IT student and my creative thinking, I will make sure our user can experience joy in exploring books that they can find easily with our system. I mean, making people happy while helping them out is the best thing you can do with your life.😊

What are the Problem Here?

THE TEXTBOOK STRUGGLE IS REAL ! Buying textbooks every semester is one of the biggest headaches for students, not only are they expensive, but finding second-hand options often feels like searching for a needle in a haystack. While new students scramble to find affordable books, senior students are left with stacks of used textbooks they no longer need, with no easy way to pass them on. This mismatch creates a real gap: first-years face financial pressure, while seniors miss the chance to recoup some of their costs. Without a simple, centralized platform to connect the two, valuable books go unused, and students end up spending more than they need to. It’s an ongoing cycle of wasted money, time, and resources, and we think it’s time to change that.

Inside a Student’s Mind: The Book Swap Experience

EMPATHY MAP This image shows an empathy map for users of a book swap or second-hand textbook marketplace, likely for UUM students. An empathy map is a visualization tool used in design thinking to gain deeper insight into users by exploring different aspects of their experience. Core Components of the Empathy Map Central Focus The map places the user (represented by a silhouette) at the center, with six key sections radiating outward to capture different aspects of the user experience. THINK Section (Left, Light Green) Key thoughts : "Are the books in good condition?" "Can I trust this seller/buyer?" "Why buy new if I can get it cheaper second-hand?" "I want to save money on textbooks and still get good quality." This section captures the rational considerations and questions users have during the book swap process. DOES Section (Top, Light Blue) Key behaviors : "Sends messages to negotiate prices or ask about book condition....
